Dated field notes → Journal
What broke this week, bench conditions, running headers. Shop-floor notes as they happened — explicitly not the how-to archive.
Guide library · 581 published entries · en-US
581 guides, tutorials and field notes on 3D printing, electronics and workshop fixtures — each logged on a bench card, rebuilt by a second pair of hands from the words alone, and left at its original /%postname%/ address. No unboxing, no spec-sheet rankings: the tolerances, the bench conditions, the part that failed, and the fix that held.
Ordering: grouped by category, newest bench date first. Evergreen procedures are never rotated out.
Shelf structure
Five working shelves. These are plain jump links — nothing filters, nothing hides, and every row below stays reachable with a keyboard or a thumb.
First-layer adhesion, tolerance test coupons, bowed beds.
Joint quality under a loupe, ground planes, current paths.
Jigs, stops and clamps cut for one specific awkward part.
Batch behaviour, storage, and what a spool does after a year.
Tables read on the page: tolerances, fasteners, wire gauge, cost per part.

Bed mesh reads fine but the skirt still lifts at the front-left corner.
Single test prints hide the spread — four printers disagree by 0.09 mm.
Joint looks solid at 3× and fails a pull test at 8×.
Split-collar stops creep on 8 mm shanks after a few hundred holes.
Reading the row
Guides describe one bench's experience under stated conditions. They are not a certified procedure, and no result is guaranteed across every printer, board or material batch.
Four gates
Tool, material batch, ambient temperature and humidity, and the step that nearly ended the build — written on paper at the bench, not reconstructed afterwards.
Steps follow the card, including the failure. Any step that needed verbal clarification is rewritten before the draft moves on.
A different pair of hands reproduces the build from the text only. If a question has to be asked, the guide goes back to the bench.
A year later the fix either held or it didn't. If it didn't, a dated appendix is appended under the original — never a silent edit.
Where a question belongs
What broke this week, bench conditions, running headers. Shop-floor notes as they happened — explicitly not the how-to archive.
Printer tolerance charts, metric and imperial fastener equivalents, wire gauge and current references, cost-per-part worksheet. Meant to be read on the page.
A reading-and-corrections channel, plus the bench and the publication rules on About. The display layout there is a preview; nothing is transmitted or stored.
